Edgar Froese (1944–2015) was a German musician, best known as the founder of the influential electronic band Tangerine Dream.
Before moving to the Hotel Gerhus and later settling into his own apartment at Hauptstraße 155, David Bowie briefly resided as a guest in Froese’s apartment at Schwäbische Straße 7, nestled within the tranquil Bavarian Quarter.
Edgar Froese from Tangerine Dream. A very nice guy. Edgar and his wife really helped me when I was living in Berlin. I was going through a difficult phase at that time, experiencing immense pain. And they supported me in getting off cocaine. Yes, both of them were very kind to me.
